Music Factoids

In 2003, Ray Jackson the vocalist and mandolin player from 70’s Geordie band Lindisfarne, sued Rod Stewart for unpaid royalties for his featured mandolin playing on "Maggie May". It is a popular misconception that John Peel played mandolin on this track. Peel was encouraged to go on stage with the Faces on a "Top of the Pops" show and pretend to be playing mandolin.
